The protection of the environment was also important to us in the construction and enlargement of our head office in Bad Homburg. We believe that we have succeeded in combining functional aspects with the conservation of natural resources.

The building’s heat protection glass is well insulated to protect it from cold in the winter and direct solar radiation in the summer. This saves heating costs in the winter and energy for air conditioning in the summer. In addition, sunshade awnings unroll automatically to protect the glass facade from excessive heating.

We have ensured that the office furniture and fittings are environmentally-friendly. The carpets have been laid without adhesives and are recyclable. A rain water cistern collects water for flushing the toilets and watering the gardens.

The car park is paved with special stones which allow the rain water to seep into the ground. Roofs planted with grass, heather and shrubs also reduce the sealed surface area.
